Who we are
Our purpose
At WIG, we believe forward-thinking leadership and purposeful collaboration across sectors are essential to tackle the UK’s most complex policy challenges and achieve lasting prosperity and growth.
As an independent, non-lobbying membership organisation and charity, we provide a trusted space for today’s and tomorrow’s leaders from across sectors to engage in strategic dialogue, build collaborative leadership skills and networks, and exchange insights and best practices, all for the common good.
We’re governed by our diverse Board of trustees and patrons, including Permanent Secretaries and Directors General from DBT, DfE, and DWP, and senior leaders from across business, academia, and civil society.
"WIG has developed a unique position, whereby they are able to draw together both public, private and third sector organisations, to bring a broader perspective when and where it’s needed." - Nicola Wright, Head of Leadership and Professions, Crown Prosecution Service

"People really get what WIG is about. There can be a potential for a mismatch between policymakers’ thinking and the practical challenges of industry from day to day – and this is where WIG comes in."
