A recording of the WIG Webinar: The Role of a Hydrogen Economy in a Low-Carbon Future
The recent publication of the UK Government's long anticipated Energy White Paper, confirms that hydrogen will play a key role in delivering net-zero, with plans to kick-start a hydrogen economy by achieving 5GW of production by 2030, through a £240m net-zero hydrogen fund.
To help you understand the role of hydrogen in a low-carbon future, including as fuel for heating, industry and transport, WIG was delighted to welcome Håvard Hellvik Kvadsheim, Senior Engineer and Commercial Manager H2H Saltend Project, Equinor; Greg McKenna, Managing Director, Centrica Storage Ltd; Rita Wadey, Deputy Director of Hydrogen Economy at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; and David Wallace, Senior Strategy Manager, Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult.
By joining online you will:
- Understand more about the role that hydrogen could play in creating a net-zero energy system in the UK and across the globe
- Hear more about the current barriers to a widespread roll out of hydrogen technologies, and both how and where the policy-technology gap can be best addressed
