Speakers

Victoria is Deputy Director, Strategy for i.AI, the Government’s new incubator for Artificial Intelligence. This is a technical team sitting at the heart of UK Government - the team was founded in November 2023 in Number 10, and now sits alongside AI and digital delivery teams in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Prior to joining i.AI, Victoria worked at HM Treasury, Nesta and in Management consultancy.

Amanda is a seasoned IT professional with over 30 years of experience in the industry. She has led teams across the globe, starting in Africa and extending to Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the USA. Throughout her career, Amanda has created partner and sales strategies across all verticals. She has worked in software distribution with Workgroup Distribution, hardware and networking with Unisys, and with smaller specialized partners across Africa. More recently, Amanda has held various roles at Microsoft, SAP, and AWS, including leading the EMEA Partner Strategy for AWS and Services teams. She is now back at Microsoft as the General Manager for Public Sector.

Michael Rovatsos is Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh. He has over 25 years of experience in AI research, where he develops AI algorithms and architectures to support collaboration between human and/or artificial agents, e.g. in sharing economy, electronic commerce, or logistics applications. For the past ten years, his research has focused primarily on ethical and responsible AI alongside shaping the University's AI strategy as Director of The Bayes Centre (the University's innovation hub for AI and Data Science) and Vice Principal for AI. He currently serves on the Board of The Data Lab and acts as University liaison at the Alan Turing Institute, the Scottish and UK national centres for data science and AI. He has published over 100 scientific articles on various topics in AI, and has been involved in research and innovation projects that have received over £20 million of external funding.
