Speakers at the Event
Rosalind is the Director of the Office for Life Sciences. Previously, she was Director for International Energy and Climate Finance at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and prior to that, Principal Private Secretary to the Home Secretary, Home Office. Rosalind has worked as the Director of EU Exit Implementation at the Cabinet Office, and prior to that she was International Strategy Director at the Department for International Trade and was responsible for the UK’s bilateral trade relations globally. Her team was also responsible for influencing cross-cutting international Whitehall policy and for the national security and development agendas.
Originally a corporate lawyer working in the City on market access issues, Roz was Minister-Counsellor for Economic Affairs, Strategy and Communications at the British Embassy in Tokyo. Prior to that Roz was Counsellor for Global Issues at the British Embassy in Washington DC where she was responsible for a broad span of policy issues, including trade, business, energy, climate change, science, innovation and transport. Roz has extensive experience of working on foreign policy issues, including during her time at the Ministry of Justice where she negotiated criminal law in Brussels, as well as through her work at the UK’s Serious Organised Crime Agency and as a lawyer working on international law cases for a top human rights litigation firm. During her time in academia, Roz was responsible for the public international law programme at SOAS.
