A recording and overview of the WIG Webinar: In conversation with: Dame Deirdre Hutton, Chair, Civil Aviation Authority - reflecting on a decade of leading through crisis
Dame Deirdre Hutton has been chair of the UK Civil Aviation Authority since 2009 and will stand down from the role at the end of July 2020. We are delighted that she will be joining us for a live studio valedictory lecture at the end of her tenure leading the UK’s aviation regulator.
Over the course of 11 years, Dame Deirdre has helped steward the CAA through some of the most trying crises in UK aviation history, from the Icelandic volcanic eruption in 2010 right through to the collapse of Thomas Cook last year and the current COVID pandemic. Dame Deirdre will reflect on these events, the role of governance in a crisis and the state of the aviation industry. She will also share her views on the future of regulation, particularly considering technological innovation and evolving consumer habits.
By joining this webinar online you will have the opportunity to hear about:
- The role of the Board in a crisis
- The importance of just culture to improving regulatory outcomes
- The state of the aviation industry
- The future of regulation
