WIG Leadership Programme Recognised at KPMG Supplier Awards | Article

Our leadership team received the Government Campus “Excellence in Leadership Learning Award” at the KPMG Supplier Awards. This award celebrates leadership programmes that have gone the extra mile to make the Civil Service more skilled, innovative and ambitious.

Through our partnership with KPMG and Government Campus, WIG not only took home the “Excellence in Leadership Learning Award”, but also a nomination for the “Best Facilitator” award amongst all Government Campus suppliers.

These honours espouse much of what we stand for – providing opportunities to work together, increasing collaboration, building capacity and curating programmes designed to unleash leadership potential, as well as enabling real connection and learning to achieve better outcomes for society.

To win the Excellence in Leadership Award, WIG’s faculty and leadership team demonstrated continuing enthusiasm for innovative learning techniques and a dedication to building professional excellence.

Why WIG Leadership Programmes?

Each year, WIG brings together exceptional leaders from across the public, private and not for profit sectors who want to learn from common challenges, stretch their thinking and broaden their perspectives. There is an unrivalled range of leadership programmes supporting those in their early career through to senior level in business and Directors General in the Civil Service.

For our participants, the essence of our programmes is all about recognising the breadth and depth of their thinking and being challenged to think more broadly by being exposed to different sectors and different leadership challenges.

WIG leadership programmes in 2022

There is a wide spread of organisations represented at all leadership programme levels. We also supported broader organisational development objectives for a select number of members by designing and delivering bespoke leadership programmes for them, benefiting another 217 high potential leaders, a 45% increase from 2019/20. Our one-day development seminars supported over 1,000 participants from across the membership and assisted in developing their skillsets, a 10% increase from last year.  We successfully pivoted all our face-to-face offers to engaging online offers and started investigating the best blend of digital and face-to-face delivery going forward.

A massive thank you to all our members who take part in WIG leadership programmes, and faculty for being part of our journey. WIG started 40 years ago with a passion for increasing understanding and collaboration among sectors through development leading to better business, better government, and ultimately a better society.
