Commercialisation and Income Generation in the Public Sector
Author WIG Date 18 Apr 2023
With speakers including Alison Campbell, CEO, Government Office for Technology Transfer (GOTT) and Jon Harding, Management Group, PA Consulting
Over the past couple of years responses to the COVID-19 pandemic have demonstrated enormous capacity across the UK public sector to innovate and collaborate across the public, private and not-for-profit (NFP) sectors. As we look ahead to the coming financial year and challenging budgetary circumstances, WIG is delighted to convene this discussion on applying that innovative and collaborative mindset to the question of commercialisation and income generation. Generating income is not the core purpose of any public sector organisation but, done well, there is an opportunity for organisations to deliver higher quality public services, subsidise additional services or invest in future capabilities.
Join our expert panel for your opportunity to:
- Understand how the Government Office for Technology Transfer (GOTT) supports the UK public sector to unlock the estimated £150bn of ‘knowledge assets’ and deliver value to the UK economy and society
- Explore creative approaches to commercialisation taken by local authorities
- Discuss how business, academia and NFPs can help the public sector develop and deliver successful income generation strategies
